Assalamoualaikum, Dear imam, I have a question about my periods, I want to know if I can pray Salah , I got my periods on 3 feb to 9 feb 2021 , now my periods starts again today 18 feb 2021, is it consider istihadah , should I continue doing my Salah or stop. Please advise as soon as possible, don’t want to miss my Salah, JAZAKALLAH

Thank you very much for your question. It is our pleasure to answer it.

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.

Dear sister, it should be noted that the minimum period of purity between the two menses according to the majority of the scholars is 15 days or 13 days according to the Hanbali School of Fiqh.

Therefore, if a woman sees blood for 8 days, for example, and then she becomes pure for a period of less than 15 days, and then she sees blood again, then this is considered Istihaadah (irregular bleeding). Therefore, if a woman sees bleeding after 13 days or more, then this bleeding that she had again is menstruation. If she sees bleeding after less than 13 days, then it is Istihadah.

Hence, you should clean your private parts and use a pad before making wudu for each prayer if the blood comes out. Offer you prayers as usual and repeat that for each prayer.

And Allah knows best.
